ABOUT DIAMONDS
Diamonds are pure or nearly
pure carbon, they have three extraordinary qualities: First, it
is the hardest transparent substance known to man, however, sharp
impact may cause damage to a diamond.
Second, a diamond is the purest natural gemstone, composed of a
single element. Third, a diamond has a unique power of light refraction,
reflecting light out of its table facet creating a dazzling sparkle.
There are four characteristics that determine the quality of a diamond
these are known as the 4 C’s (Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat-weight).
We always recommend that our clients’ select a diamond in
the colour range D-G (colourless to white) and clarity no lower
than SI1 (slightly included), giving you a
diamond you can be proud of.
The carat weight should then be selected in
accordance with your budget. We will often spend many hours viewing
dozens of stones on behalf of a single client before selecting the
highest quality diamond that we consider the best match for your
individual requirements.
